It seems like every weekend the fabulous folks at The St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival are offering you something fabulous to do on your hard-earned weekends off. This week’s a doozy. Particle Fever is more than just a film, it’s a thing, that’s happening, and it’s going to drop your jaw. Here’s a press release:
“Particle Fever will blow your mind, whether you know what a boson is or not. This award-winning documentary follows the team behind the Large Hadron Collider as they push the limits of human knowledge. The film has been making people gasp, cry, and shake their heads in wonder all across North America, and it’s coming to St. John’s on April 25. The St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival is thrilled to present a screening of this beautiful and gripping documentary on April 25th at the LSPU Hall, beginning at 8pm. As they seek to unravel the mysteries of the universe, 10,000 scientists from over 100 countries joined forces in pursuit of a single goal: to recreate conditions that existed just moments after the Big Bang and find the Higgs boson, potentially explaining the origin of all matter. But our heroes confront an even bigger challenge: have we reached our limit in understanding why we exist? You can get your tickets ($12) online or at the RCA Box Office, www.rca.nf.ca.”
