Written and directed by local filmmakers Mark Hoffe and Justin Simms, based on a local novel by Chad Pelley, scored by local musician Mark Bragg, starring local actors like Shawn Doyle, Joanne Kelly, and Greg Malone, with 2 of the 3 producers (Brad Gover and Barbara Doran) being local — it doesn’t get more local than that.
The film is playing in select theatres across the country this week, including a red carpet event at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre this weekend. There’ll be a hometown screening at Cineplex Avalon Mall Wednesday night. It’s the movie that brought Jason Priestley to town in May 2015. Toronto’s Capital Motion Picture Group Inc. are giving away 2 pairs of tickets. Winners will be drawn tomorrow (March 1st) at noon.
