Meghan O’Dea is the woman behind Pi Gourmet Eatery on King’s Road, and just last week she took 1st place, in the category of “Best Non-traditional Pizza in the International Division,” at the International Pizza Challenge at the Pizza Expo in Las Vegas.

Pi’s perfect pizza looks like this: A mint-lemon balm pesto with lamb, smoked cheddar, goat cheese, water chestnuts, mango and cherry tomato chutney, and fresh chilies. It’s a recipe that took six months to master, and her win was a long-fought battle. She’s been trying for it for years, which makes it all the more victorious.
