Hey Rosetta!’s Tim Baker and St. John’s newest music venue have partnered up to offer the city a “carefully curated series of songwriters circles, focusing on the craftsmanship and process behind the songs of some of the best writers around.”
The series is called Inkwell, and the first installation will feature Len O’Neill of Green & Gold, Ilia Nicoll of Ilia Nicoll and the Hot Toddies, and Jody Richardson of The Pathological Lovers, as well as Tim Baker himself. The inaugural edition will take place Thursday April 28th at 9pm. You can buy tickets at Fred’s Records.
The idea for the series was Tim’s. “I spoke to Tim a few weeks back and mentioned to him we’d be interested in setting up a sort of ‘shut up and listen’ type of event,” says Factory co-owner Denver Drake. “Less bells and whistles. A more intimate, stripped down experience where you’d actually learn what inspired, and was behind the music.”
Co-owner Adam Harding adds “We just think it’s a really great way to use the space for more than just a loud bar night and something more immersed in the songwriting.”
