Motown For It’s Mental

Some of St. John’s most cherished musicians are performing at the second-annual Motown themed fundraiser for the grassroots mental health advocacy group It’s Mental. Catch performances by Amelia Curran, Steve Maloney, Kelly-Ann Evans, Dana Parsons, Fortunate Ones, Jerry Stamp, Jamie Dart, and Sarah, Jenn, and Lucas of The Halliday Band and support a good cause!

Beer & Letter Writing

Sidekick Saturdays
Saturday 5:00-9:00pm @The Geek Bar at The Rockhouse

The Geek Bar at The Rockhouse is hosting weekly letter-writing sessions with all the accoutrement (stamps, pens, and cards) provided. And they’ll be offering drink specials to letter writers! If you don’t already have a pen pal, the hosts suggest you check out The World Needs More Love Letters, a site that compiles stories and letter requests from people who’d like someone to write a letter on their behalf.

Chabad of Newfoundland is hosting a special series of  kosher cooking classes for kids. This weekend’s dish is hot pretzels! The sessions are designed for kids between the ages of 1-3, they will be divided into groups based on age at the event. The classes are $5.00 each or $25.00 for a membership.
