Take Back the Night

Take Back The Night 2017
Saturday 7:00pm-10:00pm @ Bannerman Park

The annual Take Back The Night March will begin in Bannerman Park this Friday evening. People will march from the park to St. John’s City Hall to raise awareness about gender inequality and sexual violence. Allies will join marchers at City Hall for speeches and a Candlelight Vigil. Marchers are encouraged to bring signs, posters, and noisemakers.

Open Farm Day 2017
Sunday 11:00am-4:00pm @ Dixie H Farm – Newfoundland Pony Sanctuary

This Sunday is Open Farm Day, farms all over the province are opening their doors to the public. Dixie H Farms in the Goulds is celebrating with a Newfoundland Pony show, English and Western horseback riding demonstrations, and a fishpond. There’ll be canteen on site so you can snack while you take in the sights.

Drag Storytime with Irma Gerd
Sunday 2:00pm-3:00pm @ Chapters

Rise Up Fundraising is hosting storytime with St. John’s very own drag superstar Irma Gerd at Chapters this Sunday. Kids of all ages are welcome to come hear stories, do crafts, and get a photo with Irma. Parents are encouraged to register in advance by calling Chapters or dropping into the store.
