{Re}Framed 2017 Opening Reception
Friday 8:00pm -10:30pm @ 221 Duckworth Street

The opening reception for the third annual Feminisms {Re}Framed Art Show is happening this Friday in that 80s-style art-deco building (formerly WordPlay) on Duckworth Street. The show will feature work by a number of different local artists, all exploring feminist ideas. Organizers say, “We approach feminist art inclusively as any art exploring, navigating, or challenging feminist themes and issues and/or art that is feminist through the means of its creation and production.” This event is free/PWYC with a suggested $5 donation and there will be wine!

Biking

Critical Mass St. John’s
Friday 6:00pm @ The Bannerman Park Gazebo

Critical Mass groups all over Canada and The States get together for bicycle rides through cities and towns, asserting their right to be on the road and promoting biking as a more eco-friendly and affordable alternative to cars.Critical Mass St. John’s is meeting this Friday for a group ride, and is inviting people with any type of non-motorized transportation to join them. Riders will go at a moderate pace to make the ride more inclusive of all cyclists. This is a free, family friendly event.

Young Scientist – Burst Your Bubble
Saturday 10:30am – 12:30pm @ Manuels River Interpretation Centre

This weekend, the Manuels River Interpretation Centre is hosting one of their bi-monthly Young Scientist events. At each event the Manuels River Staff uses crafts, experiments, nature hikes or games to help kids (ages 3-10) and their families explore a new scientific concept. This week’s theme is bubbles. Admission is seven dollars for both kids and adults.
