Girls Rock Show

GRNL Summer Fundraiser
Saturday 10:00pm-2:00am @ The Ship Pub

Girls Rock NL are hosting a 19+ fundraiser at The Ship this weekend in support of their annual Rock Camp that aims to empower girls through music and mentorship. The fundraiser will feature; Jo Barker, PJ Ninja, Peavish, and Thelma and Louise. Doors open at 10:00pm, there will be merch for sale and door prizes up for grabs.

Free Spinning and Weaving Workshop 

School of Industry: Remembering the Great Fire of 1892
Saturday 12:00-5:00pm @ Bannerman Park

The City of St. John’s and the Anna Templeton Centre have partnered to offer a free, kid-friendly spinning and weaving workshop in Bannerman Park this weekend. Linda Lewis will demonstrate spinning on a wheel and invite participants to spin using a potato drop spindle to prep fleece. Katie Parnham will bring a small loom and show people how to set it up and use it.

Manuels River Bobber Day
Saturday 12:00–3:30pm @ Manuels River

This Saturday is annual Bobber Day at Manuels River, there will be a bobber race and a kids’ carnival. Corporations who buy a bobber in the race will have a chance to win a web design package from Pinnacle Office Solutions. Individuals who buy a bobber could take home a return trip for two to anywhere WestJet flies. There will be carnival games and science demos for kids. All proceeds from the event will go to the upkeep of the Manuels River community trails.
