Printer’s Fair @ Rocket Room
Nov. 20th, 11-5. Free!

Check out the 4th annual Printers’ Fair at the Rocket Room, where local artists and craftspeople of the paper persuasion will be selling their wares – books, broadsides, prints, cards, chapbooks, linocuts, etchings, lithographs, screenprints, letterpress goods and more. Beat the Christmas rush and peruse hundreds of items for sale, handmade by local vendors, so you know no one else will have bought this for your parent/kid/partner/pal. There will be tons of truly amazing local artists and craftspeople.

Live Album Recording! Hornell & Sneddon
Nov. 20th, 8-11pm. $15.

Matthew Hornell and Andrew Sneddon recently took 2nd place at the international FreshGrass Best Duo contest, wowing judes into saying the likes of “Sneddon offers up a silvery counterpoint with his resophonic guitar and smooth tenor harmony that blends perfectly with Matthew’s rich melodious baritone and lead vocals.” Sneddon will be flying direct from Nashville for this show. Though a multi-­instrumentalist, Sneddon is widely recognized as one of Canada’s finest squareneck Dobro players, and is steeped in the traditions of Steel Guitar. Hornell and Sneddon have worked together for many years, and will record a new live album the weekend. Check it out, have a clap and hear yourself when the album drops.

For the Kids

6th Annual Fluvarium Spawning Festival @ The Fluvarium
Nov. 20th, 12-4:30pm. Cost = Standard Fluvarium admission.

To quote the event description, “Fish making nests? Humans planting eggs? If you are a trout or salmon enthusiast, or just love the majesty of the river, join us on Sunday November 20 learn more about these creatures! Don’t miss out on a river walk to learn about Trout Spawning and the all-important Riffle. [Learn] about the salmon reintroduction program which is now in its 5th year, and extra volunteers will be on hand if parents wish to take in the SAEN talk while their kids participate in the Kids Club program. There will also be fun activities for the kids including fish pond, games, crafts, and story time.
