Mallard Cottage is hosting a fundraiser for our city’s beloved Lawnya Vawnya Festival this weekend. They’ll be serving up veg or meat lasagna and a side for $20.00 (cash only), plus there’ll be live music performed by Remix ’86, and drink specials. Head down to the gut to enjoy some comfort food and a few tunes while supporting independent arts and culture.

SPCA St. John’s Fall Fair
Sunday 10:00am – 4:00pm @ Mazol Shrine Centre
The SPCA’s Fall Fair is a great place to pick up gifts for the animal lovers in your life, there’ll be tons of SPCA merchandise and pet accessories for sale. Soup, coffee, and tea will be available for purchase inside, along with a slew of homemade baked goods. Admission is just $2.00 and that includes the chance to win a door prize. There’ll be lots of chances to win prizes and play games.

WANL is hosting an editorial panel with local editors Sandy Newton, Leslie Vryenhoek, and Claire Wilkshire. The three editors will talk about what makes a good author/editor relationship and what role the editor plays in different types of projects.
