Come say goodbye to two local favourites, and 3 very original and unmistakable local bands. Both Andrew McCarthy (drummer of the dancy jazzy horn-driven band, Ouroboros) and Adam Martin (frontman of the hop hop rock group Hear/Say) are “heading up to the big smoke in a few weeks, so it’s only appropriate that we have a big party for them,” the Facebook event reads.

Matturday Wright Live
Sunday 8pm-10pm @ Yellowbelly Brewery

Local funny guy Matt Wright (Just for Laughs, This Hour Has 22 Minutes) hosts his final “Matturday Night Live” event of the summer, featuring comics John Sheehan (Halifax & St. John’s Comedy Fest), Vicky Mullaley (2017 funniest Newfoundlander Contest), Chris Tobin (Yuk Yuk’s), and musical guest, Steve Maloney, with a few sketches and some improv thrown in for good measure. $20 at the door.

Nature Nook
Sunday 1:00pm-4:00pm @ The Rooms

Nature Newfoundland and Labrador is hosting a Nature Nook event for families at The Rooms this Sunday afternoon. At the event Naturalists will give kids a chance to interact with real seal pelts, antlers, and whale baleen, among other specimens. Kids will be encouraged to ask questions about wildlife in our province. The cost of the event is included in The Rooms entry fee.
