Girls Rock NL Year 2 Launch Party ($10)
Saturday 10pm–2am @ The Ship
Girls Rock NL are celebrating a successful first year of mentoring young women musicians and kicking off their second year with a show at The Ship. The show will feature three local tribute bands: Angel’s Cove (Angel Olsen), St. Vincent’s (St. Vincent) and Avant Gardener (Courntey Barnett). And as if that weren’t enough to make it a super special night, there will also be door prizes and a silent auction!
Comedy/Storytelling
OUCH! True Story Open Mic ($5.00/PWYC)
Sunday 8pm-10:30pm @ The Ship
Hosts Amanda Batten and Adam Baker invite people to get on stage and share a true story from their lives. The vibe at this event is warm and welcoming, while most people tell funny stories, audience members are encouraged to share true stories in any genre as along as they are under ten minutes. All proceeds from this monthly event are donated to the NL Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre.
