The St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival is seeking submissions from Atlantic Canadian women looking to develop their first web-based or interactive media project (web series, interactive documentary, etc.) for its 2015 [Interactive] Incubator Project (IIP). The IIP connect creators with industry experts who can help develop, focus, and network their projects.
It’s an incubation project - the festival is aiming to foster growth and potential. The top five chosen creators are brought to the festival and and given full access to the Festival screenings, VIP Galas, and parties, plus they attend the [Interactive] Film Industry Forum workshops and panels to further their training.
They will then be matched with leading industry experts from across Canada for one-on-one consultations and meetings to further refine, strengthen, and develop their projects, including Nina Sudra from VICE , a global youth media company and industry leader in producing and distributing the best online video content in the world
And Noora Abu Eitah from Secret Location, winner of a Digital Emmy® Award, a Gemini Award, and several marketing and Webby awards. Winners will also receive a $2000 voucher for film gear rental from William F. White International Inc.
At the conclusion of the week, Creators are given the option to pitch their projects to producers and organizations at the Face 2 Face Pitch Session, along with other perks and prizes.
Both VICE and Secret Location will be joining the 26th Annual St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival and presenting panels or taking project pitches at their [Interactive] Film Industry Forum.
