For the second time, “Pope Productions has teamed up with Heavy Weather to bring you some of the best emerging and established musicians from the East Coast to CBC Television.”
Volume one of this series aired last year, and featured hometown heroes Joanna Barker, Steve Maloney and the Wandering Kind, Hear/Say and The Elizabeatans. You can watch that one online, by clicking here.
“Heavy Weather Presents Vol. 2,” will air this Saturday August 23, at 8:30pm, and it will feature:
4-time Music NL Award-winner and ECMA Rising Star Nominee, Matthew Hornell
Multi-instrumentalist, Berkely-bound wunderkind, Kat McLevey,
The stunning harmonies of the colourfully folky ECMA winners, Les Hay Babies
and PEI’s favourite progressive pop-rock band, Coyote.
“Music has personality,” a press release states, “and so do the musicians who write and perform it. Heavy Weather puts musicians in an environment that is interesting to your eyes and ears with one camera and no edits, letting the music and performance come through.”
A third episode will also ait next saturday, same time and place, featuring The Modern Grass, Repartee, The Heavy Horses and Breagh MacKinnon.
