Local rock band Long Distance Runners will release their new album, Elements, on October 9th at The Rockhouse. For now, they’ve just released their slow-psych rocking single, above, titled “You Gotta Remind Me.”
For their third album, the band has stepped into new sonic territory. Elements sees the band presenting its own hook-heavy hybrid of psychedlic, rock n’ roll, and country influences.
“Moments of effervescence in the production - flutes, modest strings, synths, and touches of brass - accentuate the band’s emotionally charged, fog-drenched and sun-soaked songs about yearning, love, and hope.Long Distance Runners channel the breathiness of Tame Impala, the rootsiness of Wilco, and the power pop melodies of Mikal Cronin to create a sonically spacious album.”
We’ve been spinning the new album here at the office. It’s a gem, a carefully crafted and sophisticated exploration of rock and roll.
