The King is alive and well … sort of. Moncton native and award-winning Elvis Presley impersonator Thane Dunn is making his St. John’s debut on September 25 and 26 at Holy Heart Theatre.

“I can’t believe how many emails I’ve received from Newfoundlanders who have heard of us and are just as excited to see me,” Dunn said. “It’s like we’ve started an Elvismania over there! I’m going to do my best to live up to my reputation.”

Dunn has been crowned winner of the World’s Largest International Elvis Tribute Artist Competition and the World’s Largest Elvis Gospel Competition, and claims to be the closest thing there is to the real deal – with exact replica costumes, hairstyle (the sideburns are real, if you were wondering) and lively persona.

In fact, Dunn’s costumes are so precise, that one of them is the home of a stud that originated on Presley’s own suit worn in Detroit on April 6, 1972 during the filming of the MGM Documentary, “Elvis on Tour.”

Dunn will be joined onstage by The Cadillac Kings, an 8-man ensemble that bring the true rock and roll backbone to the performance. Showgoers can expect to hear all the classics,“from Love Me Tender to Suspicious Minds, performed with all the glitz and glamour you would expect from ‘The King.’”

A portion of ticket sales will be donated to Daffodil Place. All ticket purchasers will also be entered into a draw to win a pair of Elvis Presley sunglasses – pressed from the same mould that Presley’s own sunglasses came from. They will be personalized with your initials! The draw will be made during the show.

Tickets are available online at www.holyhearttheatre.com or phone (709) 579-4424 and at the Holy Heart Box Office.
