This November, you can kick off your Christmas spirit with Kenny Rogers himself. The man, the legend, the Kenny of Kenny’n’Dolly fame will be playing “holiday classics and his No.1 hits” in three Newfoundland venues.

Back in 1984, Kenny and Dolly Parton released Once Upon a Christmas, a 5-times platinum record in Canada that’s become a classic staple in Christmas album collections worldwide. Cue to September of 2015, and Kenny will be releasing his first studio Christmas album in 17 years: Once Again It’s Christmas

Rogers is fixin’ to break a record with his success: he has charted an album every decade for the last seven decades, beginning with That Crazy Feeling in the late 1950s, through to You Can’t Make Old Friends (2013). You Can’t Make Old Friends was his 22nd Top 10 Country album.

Non-Christmas songs you’ll hear at his concerts include his 1977 Grammy winner “Lucille,” and “Buy Me A Rose,”which made him the oldest solo artist in the history of the country singles chart to reach the top spot. He was 61 at the time.

“I love many kinds of music,” Rogers has said. “But I’m a Country singer. This music is where the pain is,
and where the happiness is.” With 24 #1 songs, 12 #1 albums and numerous hits (including timeless
duets with Dottie West, Dolly Parton and many others), to his credit, Rogers is the RIAA’s 8th best selling
male solo artist of all time with sales of more than 120 million albums worldwide.

To list more accolades: he has 1 Diamond album, 19 Platinum albums, and 31 Gold albums. He has won
3 Grammy Awards, 18 American Music Awards, 11 People’s Choice Awards, 8 Academy of Country Music Awards, and 6 Country Music Association Awards, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

“After all these years, I still have something to say. I’m still creating what I hope is relevant music and loving
every minute of it.”
