Jumping Bean Coffee has been spreading its storefronts around the island for a while now, and the surge even saw a merge with Hava Java last year. With 12 locations it’s nearly as easy to grab a cup of their coffee as it is Tim Horton’s these days (and it’s a damn better cup). It was announced today that their lucky #13 spot will be calling Halifax home, marking their first location off the island.

Haligonian franchise owners Nicole Myles Brook and Brian Brook jumped on the Jumping Bean wagon with great enthusiasm — their location will open this summer at 936 Bedford Highway (unit 112 in the Village Centre), with a full service drive-thru window.

“Its interior will service the community with an urban, upbeat décor using Canadian designed and manufactured furniture, reclaimed wood, and east coast art.”

As their storefronts take root in Atlantic Canada, Jumping Bean’s socially and ecologically responsible grocery retail products continue their nationwide surge.

“Our whole bean bags, as well as our compostable Keurig 2.0 compatible single serve coffee pods, are available in stores across the country, including Atlantic Sobeys, 260 Loblaw and Dominion stores, Costco, and Costco.ca, as well as many independent grocers.

“Our signature coffees are certified fair trade organic and are roasted to perfection with our unique ECO2Roast® process – a carbon reduction system we developed to eliminate 85% of emissions from the roasting process. This process saves a pound of carbon footprint per pound of coffee, making for a truly guilt-free cup of coffee.”
