You don’t even have to be a musician to pick up on the fact touring is particularly rough on land-locked locals looking to bring their music uplaong to Canada. In that regard, there’s not a musicians in NL who couldn’t benefit from “On The Road: A Panel Discussion on Touring and Booking for Bands” on Tuesday August 2nd at Eastern Edge.
The panel will feature the road-tested wisdom and experience of Leah Fay (July Talk), Meg Warren (Repartee), Mara Pellerin (Hey Rosetta!, Wunderstrands, The Gramercy Riffs), and music agent Stefanie Purificati (United Talent Agency — she’s managed Canadians like Sam Roberts & Bruce Cockburn).
1pm-2pm Panel
2pm-2:30pm Q&A
2:30-3pm Mixer
The event is a co-presentation of SWIM (St. John’s Women in Music) and Girls Rock NL, and its panel will be moderated by SWIM’s Kate Lahey.
“Come learn about what it takes to tour in Canada and abroad, best practice for booking shows, where to find the money to get on the road, how to MAKE money on the road, how to stay fit mentally and physically and tons of other information from a team of total pros.”
