The Humane Services Animal Care and Adoption shelter is at capacity; there are over 80 adorable cats and kittens in need of a ‘fur’ever home.
This is your chance to save a life, and save 50% while you’re at it: For the month of August, the HSACA shelter’s cat adoption fee will be slashed in half – from $120 down to $60. All cats are vaccinated, Felv/FIV tested, dewormed, flea treated, and ready to roll. Many have even been spayed/neutered.
Have a look at who’s available by clicking here, or in person at 81 Higgins Line on weekdays (noon-4) or weekends (3-5). And browse this list of cat facts to help ease you beyond wanting a cat into getting a cat.
1.) Cats are better than us. Not just in terms of their admirable lifestyle of lazing in sunspots all day (cats sleep for 70% of their lives!), but, they hold some physiological superiority as well. For example cats have 32 muscles that control the outer ear, while humans have only 6.
2.) They just wanna be your pal: did you know that adult cats do not meow at each other? It’s believed that adult cats only meow at their human owners. Who knows what they’re saying, but, it’s the thought that counts, right?
3.) Science has proven they’re good for your health: owning a cat can reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes by more than a third.
4.) Ancient Egyptians knew what’s what: like how important cats are. When their pet cat died, they would shave their eyebrows to mourn the occasion.
5.) 50% off is a bargain: if this was a car or a new Mac Book, you’d totally buy this. It’s basically cat burglary.
