First Listen: “Trust” by Werewoman

"Youth Slipt circles around the feeling of being past your prime and all the emotions that go along with it."

There are — in a town known for its trad’n’folkier side — a handful of solid rock bands keeping its livelier show scene alive and well. Werewoman are one of them (despite their bassist taking a work placement in Toronto, casting the band into a liveshow hiatus).

“Trust,” streaming above, is one of 10 songs from their forthcoming album, Youth;Slipt — a collection of songs Matt Cull calls “a more cohesive album thematically, than the last release Opposite Sex. It circles around the feeling of being past your prime and all the emotions that go along with it. Love, loss, guilt, contentment and so on. “Trust” is just an extension of those feelings and how you only understand it through it being taken away.”
