Waterfront Fire is an energetic, radio-friendly rock group from St. John’s, with a lot of promise realized in their consistent award recognition from MusicNL. The band has shared a stage with Canadian royalty both classic (Blue Rodeo) and modern (Alvvays), and were recently picked for the Breakout Artist program at the ECMA’s East Coast Music Week.

Waterfront Fire also recently represented Canada in a songwriting exchange program in Trinidad & Tobago, and enjoy national radio play, having been featured by the likes of Rich Terfry on CBC radio. “What Went Wrong (Stillwater Lake)” is the first single off of Waterfront Fire’s new Sophomore LP / 3rd album, titled Stillwater Lake.

“The album, set for release on January 20, 2018, is a concept album that tells the story of a man struggling with mental illness after the loss of his significant other,” explains Jordan Coaker from the band.

Coaker says the first single “explores the ups and downs of this relationship before tragedy strikes and the difficulties that follow the loss of a loved one.”

Waterfront Fire is up for the MusicNL Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year award at this weekend’s MusicNL awards. The band will be showcasing Friday at 7pm at the St. John’s Convention Centre Export Buyers’ event, then midnight at Rock House.
