Since 2015’s East Coast Music Week, it’s been busy times for Selina Boland, and momentum only seems to be building for this St. John’s singer/songwriter.

Better known simply as Selina, the singer/songwriter comes from a musically talented family and has been honing her songwriting skills since the age of four. She performed four different times during the East Coast Music Week, including showcases on both the Opportunity and Breakout Stages and a live performance on CBC Radio.

This weekend, a joint album release and tour kick-off party is planned for The Ship on Friday, May 22nd, where Selina will be releasing her second EP Second Chances, along with a video accompanying the lead single “Puppet on a String.” The video was filmed in and around St. John’s by Mike Evoy, and stars local actors and Grenfell theatre alums Mike Barry and Emily Locke. The show also features local acts GEM, Another North, and The Beautifu lWrecks.

After her album and video release at The Ship, Selina sets off on a Canadian tour, kicking off May 31st in Montreal, Quebec, and continuing throughout June and July. The singer/songwriter wraps up her tour in August, returning home to Newfoundland for the 28th Annual Brigus Blueberry Festival.
