We have five former food challenge winners in the running (either critic’s or people’s choice winners from previous years): Seto, Chinched, Magnum & Steins, Merchant Tavern, and the Celtic Hearth, but there’s never a clear consensus and that’s part of the fun: the lively debates, the panic to try them all before the clock runs out, and the pressure to pick just 1 favourite. Try as many as you can, because they’re all being made this month, and this month only, for The Overcast’s Burger Battle 2018. There’s even 2 burgers for breakfast / hangover cures. The Big Kahuna
Seared beef patty, with pork belly, roasted pineapple, 5 brothers spicy jack, and crispy onion. ($13).
Moose Pork Burger
A moose/pork burger on a brioche bun, with white cheddar, malt aioli, smoked duck bacon, pickled wild mushrooms, an onion ring, and arugula. Served with kettle chips. ($19).

Two Chorizo Verde Patties, housemade Bacon, 5broscheese Avalon Cheddar, Avocado Mayo, Sweet & Spicy Relish, on a Telera Style Roll. Side of Patatas Bravas. ($19)

The Newfoundland Burger
Newfoundland beef, with gruyère cheese, house cured bacon, caramelized onion jam, burger aioli, and lettuce, on a sesame seed bun. Served with bistro fries and house brined pickle. ($20)
Bison Breakfast Burger
A 4oz bison patty, slice of bologna, fried egg, peanut butter and hollandaise sauce, served on a touten, with homemade French fries. ($18.99)
Rabbit Saddle Bacon Burger
A rabbit saddle bacon burger on a toasted pretzel bun. Smokey mayo, rocket, sliced tomato, Five Brothers Avalon cheddar, and local lobster mushrooms. Served with seasoned waffle chips. ($17)

Paying tribute to our famous meatballs, this year’s burger features a PEI grass fed beef patty seasoned with our house made meatball blend, a seasoned ciabatta bun, marsalacaramelized onion, spicy pancetta, Five Brothers Avalon Cheddar, Piatto “Birra” mustard, a fire roasted tomato aioli, baby arugula, and topped with pickled zucchini. $15, add a side Caesar $3. Buttermilk fried chicken with pickle, lettuce, chipotle aioli, and smoked honey chilli on a homemade sesame bun. Served with fries. ($14)

A Surf n’ Turf Burger with Triple A prime beef patty & tempura tiger shrimps, on a rustic bun, with horseraddishHollandaise aioli, chiffonade roma crunch-cornichon, and sliced tomato. Served with Cajun flavored mini red potato fries. ($15.99)
Hammered down the burger at Celtic Hearth like an underfed pitbull, delicious marriage of flavours makes this burger the best, moose meat is Canadian all the way, berry infused ketchup and the crop onions, texture, flavour, and filling. Well done Sirs.
