Baby Eagle's Two Night Stand

Steve Lambke, aka The guy from The Constantines, aka the guy who co-runs You’ve Changed Records (with Daniel Romano), is in town for a two-night stand, sharing the stage with some local favourites each night. Many locals will have heard “the other guy from The Constantines,” Bry Webb, at last year’s Lawnya Vawnya Festival. Funny that a band as intense as The Constantines would produce two mellow, mild singer-songwriters like Bry and Steve. Steve Lambke’s music, as Baby Eagle, sounds a bit like the lovechild of Al Tuck and Shotgun Jimmie. His label pitches him as “punk rock that doesn’t often sound like punk rock.” Figure that out, or sample it here:

On Tuesday, he’s playing with The Corroborators, whom the Facebook event page laud for their “one-of-a-kind punky, swingy, funked out rock style,” and Heather Nolan, who has just advanced to the finals of the Road to CMW.

Wednesday night, catch him with Steve Maloney, whom the Facebook event page lauds as “one of St. John’s finest musicians,” and East of Empire. Check out the show promoter’s thoughts on East of Empire.
