While Bannerman Park’s beloved skating loop is not yet ready, on account of the decent weather we’ve been having, City staff have begun the ice making process. The process involves building the rink in layers of 1/16th of an inch, until it’s at least 1 inch thick. Progress is naturally weather dependent. Skating on the loop prematurely ruins it for everyone, so keep that in mind if you’re feeling selfishly eager. There is a loop hotline you can check with, using your good old-fashioned telephone: 733-LOOP (5667).
