Community Celebration

World Fiddle Day
Saturday 1:00-2:00pm @ Atlantic Place

In honour of World Fiddle Day, there will be a fun jam session at Atlantic Place. People of all ages are invited to come play some popular Newfoundland fiddle tunes or hang out and listen. Organizers encourage people to bring along other string instruments like violas, cellos, and basses as well. The event is free but donations will be accepted for Strong Harbour Strings. 

Competitive Singing

Sing NL Finale
Saturday 6:00pm-11:00pm @ The Majestic

After several weekly competition rounds and a semi-finale, the winner of The Telegram’s Sing NL will be chosen this weekend. Sing NL is a live singing contest modelled after singing competitions like American Idol and Eurovision. The winners chosen this weekend will receive a slew of prizes including a professionally recorded 2-song demo, a professionally produced music video, a photo shoot, and lots more. People of all ages are welcome to attend the finale. 

Outdoorsy

Wild Flower Walk
Saturday 2:00-3:00pm @ MUN Botanical Garden

The Mun Botanical Garden is hosting a nature walk this weekend, the walk will lead participants alongside Oxen Pond and onto the Garden’s woodland trails to see what’s in bloom. If you’re a nature enthusiast this is a great opportunity to make some new hiking pals and start planning summer expeditions.
