Every weekday in March we want to post some of the RPM Challenge albums you all recorded in February … So send along a link to yours, and tell us a little something about it? submissions@theovercast.ca.
“Something inspired me this year (probably a persistent flu and a sore throat) to make the vocal performances on this year’s album skirt the edges of the limits of my range and limits of my sanity. I don’t think I’ve ever sounded more unhinged and desperate, which works sometimes but maybe not always. Most of the album is just an excuse for me to play around with my new ebow and midi controller. My personal favourite tracks are “you were high I was screaming,” “Light Knife Woman,” and “We’re out of wine.” A weird theme of intoxication crept into the lyrics this year, well I guess it’s only weird in that I’m a life long teetotaller and albums like this will only make my life more difficult explaining that fact when I go to bar shows and parties.” – Patrick Canning
